Description of site |
A public area near the town of Libanus. The site is dark with very little light
pollution from the surrounding area. |

Directions |
SN 977262 The mountain centre is located south of Brecon and is clearly signposted
as you follow the A470 towards Merthyr. Alternatively, if you are heading
north from Merthyr again the Mountain centre is clearly signposted from
the A470. Take the turning and follow the road to the top of the mountain. |
Safety notes |
There is a cattle grid on the car park entrance on entry to the site. The site
has several small slopes but these present very little danger to the
public. |

There are plenty of hard and tarmac surfaces that proved easy access for wheelchair
users. |
Events |
Dark Sky Wales has hosted the Perseid meteor shower for the last three years.
Regular sessions are also held by the Cardiff Astronomical Society. |
Notes |
There is a lawned area in front of the main building that affords great views
to the South and East. Behind the centre on the road adjacent to the
common land clear unobstructed views of the South, North and West can
be found. |
